Caroline Folkenroth (formerly known as Caroline Taulbee) is a guest artist at the Lilith Gallery. Her work is more fantastical and has a fantasy/folk art style, as she often uses themes of fantasy in her work. Her more recent works during the 2004-2005 period have become drastically more sombre and gothic. Her works are for sale through the Lilith Gallery.
In addition to the Lilith Gallery, she has also shown her work at:
The Galt Guild (formerly known as the Galt Grotto) Gallery.
Late Night Art-Soul and Rock-n-Roll Explosion at the Checkered Past Gallery in Red Lion , Pa, April,2004.
Man vs. Woman Inspired Art exhibit at the Art is Freedom…Checkered Past Gallery in Red Lion, Pa May-June 2004.
Lancaster Summer Arts Festival’s 42nd Open Art Award Exhibit in the Lancaster Museum of Art, Lancaster, Pa June-Aug 2004.
The Small Works exhibit at MJ’s Coffeehouse, Annville, Pa.
Lancaster Summer Arts Festival’s 43nd Open Art Award Exhibit in the Lancaster Museum of Art, Lancaster, Pa June-Aug 2005.
The Pemberly Tea shop in September, 2005.
Folkenroth has studied at the Pennsylvania School of Art & Design and at A.R.T Research Enterprises (a bronze sculpture foundry). Otherwise she says "I am proudly self-taught." She has created her own "stylized visual language" and works towards creating "a visually beautiful, sensual, and emotional euphoric experience".
Folkenroth seldomly paints smaller than 18x24" so her works tend to be large or mid-sized. Her recent 2004-2005 works tend to be about 6" x 8". She also works in clay and wax, but at present the Lilith Gallery shows none of her sculpture pieces.
Folkenroth lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (she moved there from York Pennsylvania in the Autumn of 2003).
Many will note that Folkenroth's older art pieces are labelled "Caroline Taulbee". This is because she has recently changed her name back to her maiden name.
