This website is being updated and will be re-released shortly with a more non Eurocentric view of the history of masculinity and femininity in art. We will still be including European and Western artists, but will also include African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Russian and South American artists. We will also be including more information on prehistoric and ancient examples of gender in not just painting, but also sculpture, ceramic and other ancient and modern methods.
